The short answer

Do you offer therapy in Setauket and East Setauket?

Yes. We work with clients throughout Setauket, East Setauket, South Setauket, Stony Brook, Old Field, Poquott and Port Jefferson. All sessions are held by secure video, so there is no drive to an office — and we know the Three Village schools and community well. Evening and weekend appointments are available, and we verify NYSHIP and Empire Plan benefits for free.

A local practice, without the drive

We're based just down the road in St. James, and the Three Village area is one of the communities we work with most. For most people the barrier to starting therapy isn't distance — it's the logistics. A five o'clock appointment means leaving work early, sitting on 25A or Nicolls Road, finding parking, and getting home late.

Meeting by secure video removes all of that. You get a clinician who knows the area, its schools, and the pressures particular to it, without rearranging your afternoon around a commute.

Communities we serve nearby

  • Three Village — Setauket, East Setauket, South Setauket, Old Field, Poquott, Strong's Neck. For Stony Brook specifically, including the university and hospital community, see our dedicated page.
  • Just east — Port Jefferson, Port Jefferson Station, Belle Terre, Mount Sinai, Miller Place.
  • Just west — St. James, Smithtown, Nesconset, Head of the Harbor, Kings Park.

We also work with clients throughout the rest of New York State, since telehealth isn't limited by town lines. If you're closer to Smithtown, see our St. James and Smithtown page.

Counseling for what brings people in

Whether you call it therapy, counseling, or psychotherapy, it's the same work — individual therapy for adults, plus couples, family, and adolescent care.

Individual counseling for women

A large share of the people we work with one-to-one are women — often carrying a full workload, a household, and other people's needs at the same time, and quietly running on empty. Common themes are anxiety that won't switch off, burnout that sleep doesn't fix, grief, and relationships where you've slowly lost track of yourself.

Sessions are private, one-to-one, and scheduled around your life rather than the other way round. We use CBT and DBT-informed approaches, which means you leave with practical tools rather than only having talked.

Three Village schools and academic pressure

Three Village is among the more academically intense districts on Long Island, and that produces real results alongside a real cost. It often lands hardest on students who look like they're managing — strong grades, full schedules, and anxiety underneath. That's the pattern we describe in when your successful teen is quietly struggling.

We see teens after school and in the evening by secure video, so sessions don't pull them out of class or practice, and parents don't have to leave work early to drive.

Insurance for Three Village families

This area has an unusually high concentration of NYSHIP and Empire Plan coverage — Stony Brook University and Stony Brook Medicine, the Three Village school district, and state and county employment. That's our specialty.

We work with those benefits out of network, verify your coverage for free before your first session, and handle the billing so you're not filing claims yourself. If you'd like the mechanics first, read how out-of-network benefits work or how the deductible works.
